People are always asking me for a long list of pretty much everything I've ever written, edited or project managed... Alright, they never do, but I've made one anyway and here it is.

Innovation for a better future





Green Tech 2015 showcases the green/ecologically friendly companies/organisations operating in Bristol and its environs as part of Bristol's European Green Capital 2015 celebration. Aimed at an audience of business owners, senior executives, investors and government advisors, it was distributed at innovation event Venturefest. It will also be used to help promote the Bristol and Bath region at other similar events.

I wrote and edited case studies/company profiles of various clients of Rocketmakers (an incubator for tech and new media companies in the South West) to showcase the company's innovative work. I also scripted and directed video profiles for each case study.

Interim Digital Communications Manager for the Technology Strategy Board (since August 2013 to December 2013):
 
Technology Strategy Board (now InnovateUK)
The Technology Strategy Board is the UK's government-backed innovation agency designed to accelerate economic growth by stimulating and supporting business-led innovation.


Since being promoted from web publisher I headed up a small e-communications team looking after the corporate website and its development, e-newsletters and social media. I also project managed the creation and continued development of various other associated websites and microsites for the organisation. For example, the European innovation funding website Horizon 2020 and digital canvas The Future is Here.

Project manager for the creation, development and population of Horizon 2020 (www.horizon2020.org.uk) (December 2013):
 
Horizon 2020
Horizon 2020 is the EU's research and innovation programme covering 2014 to 2020, with a proposed budget of 79 billion. Horizon 2020 offers important opportunities for UK businesses and researchers to find finance, networks and partnerships for innovation.


I project managed the creation, development and population of Horizon 2020 (www.h2020uk.org) - the UK face of a multi-billion Euro European innovation funding programme (previously known as FP7) which provides UK companies, universities, public bodies and other organisations access to national contact points (advisers on the various areas the programme covers e.g. energy, space etc), information on calls (competitions), news and events.

Have you seen a glimpse of the future today? Make your claim by simply adding #futureishere to Instagram, Twitter or Flickr image. Submit images that you think represent the future and the best will be showcased on this site (within 24hrs of uploading). If your shot is good enough you could win a lovely prize from the Design Museum.


I helped project manage, edit and curate this digital canvas which allowed people to send tweets, Flickr and Instagram photos that they felt represented the future, with regular prizes given out for those voted the best, designed to promote a Design Museum exhibition.

Content & Context Editor for Gabble (since February 2013 to December 2013):
 
Gabble
Gabble is striving to build a universal visual language to power next generation 'text-to-image' apps.


In this role I organise the visual database for the site, apps and games. I have also helped organise a Gabble hack day to make use of the site's API as well as being involved with suggesting and developing applications and games using the Gabble database.

Pikipik, released in October 2013, was our first picture/meaning game. I helped develop the app and wrote and edited the questions for the game. It can be seen here: https://itunes.apple.com/app/pikipik/id718771698
